My name is Karen Mueller - that's Karen S Mueller because I'm not the musician from Texas (with the .com). I was born in the Chicago suburbs and married a Mueller.

When I was young, my family played all sorts of games and cards. I had fun whether I won or not.

I used to play cards all the time. In our family, the adults would play bridge and we kids (cousins) would play spades, hearts, pounce, rummy, blackJack, canasta - whatever. Sometimes we'd use 2 decks and play our own rules. We had lots of fun.

Spades was especially popular during my college years. We passed the evenings playing spades in foursomes and with other couples.

As I learned about computers, playing games on them was a real kick. When I was programming, sometimes I stayed late and played games on the mainframe - like Adventure, one of the first treasure hunting games.

Naturally, when computers became home-sized, playing PC games became one of my favorite pastimes.

There was a time when I had thought I had played every PC game around - but that's simply impossible  now. There are WAY too many new games and more PC games are created all the time!

Today's home computers support advanced graphics and software which give game developers a plethora of options. Add the Internet and you get worldwide competition - wow! We even have new game "genres", like virtual world play. I have a general gaming site CoolGamePlace.com focusing on PC games with articles about the gaming "revolution".
